Matched Vintage Pair of original Molar Chairs and Molar Table with Glass Top. The Molar Group was designed based on the shape of the molars (back-teeth). Not intended for high-volume production, the Molar group and similar Castle series of chairs were produced by hand, in extremely limited quantities, and were distributed "exclusively" by Stendig, New York. Wendell Castle's Molar chair, was one of the very few designs created in plastic by this master woodworker. In the bold "POP" tradition, the oversized tooth embodies the playfulness and intentional absurdity characteristic of the 1960s aesthetic. This set is “Exceedingly Rare” and virtually IMPOSSIBLE to find elsewhere today.
